Felician of Foligno

About Felician of Foligno
Felician was the first Bishop of Foligno, ordained by Pope Victor I and sent to evangelize Umbria. He preached successfully for decades, converting many and establishing the church in Foligno. At age 94, during the Decian persecution, Felician was arrested and brought before the authorities. Despite his advanced age, he refused to sacrifice to pagan gods. After torture, he was beheaded in 249. His long life of ministry followed by martyrdom made him patron saint of Foligno, where his relics remain.
