About Francis de Sales

Francis de Sales was Bishop of Geneva, spiritual director, and Doctor of the Church. His "Introduction to the Devout Life" made holiness accessible to lay people. He wrote extensively, founded the Visitation Order with Jane de Chantal, and showed remarkable gentleness in converting Calvinists. Declared Doctor 1877.
