About John Bosco

John Bosco founded the Salesians, dedicated to educating poor youth. In Turin, he established schools, workshops, and churches, using kindness and reason rather than punishment. His "preventive system" revolutionized education. He founded also the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians with Mary Mazzarello. Canonized 1934.
