About Peter Damian

Peter Damian was a Benedictine monk, hermit, cardinal, and Doctor of the Church. He promoted reform, fought clerical corruption and simony, and wrote theological and devotional works. Though preferring hermit life, he served the Church in diplomatic and reform missions. Declared Doctor 1828.
