Catherine Labouré was a Daughter of Charity who received visions of Mary in 1830. Mary showed her the design for the Miraculous Medal, promising graces for those who wore it. Catherine remained unknown, living humbly serving the elderly for 46 years. After her death, she was identified as the visionary. Canonized 1947.
