About Peter Canisius

Peter Canisius was a Dutch Jesuit, called "Second Apostle of Germany" for Counter-Reformation work. He wrote influential catechisms, preached extensively, founded colleges, and defended Catholicism against Protestantism with charity and scholarship. His catechism was used for centuries. Declared Doctor 1925.
