About Cyril of Jerusalem

Cyril was Bishop of Jerusalem and Doctor of the Church. His "Catechetical Lectures" for those preparing for baptism provide invaluable information on 4th-century liturgy and doctrine. He endured three exiles for defending Nicene faith. He oversaw dedication of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Declared Doctor 1882.
