About Isaac Jogues

Isaac Jogues was a French Jesuit missionary to Native Americans in New France (Canada/New York). Captured by Mohawks in 1642, he endured torture and slavery for a year. After escaping, he returned to missionary work. In 1646, he was killed by Mohawks who blamed him for disease and crop failure. One of the North American Martyrs.
