Obadiah wrote the Old Testament's shortest book, prophesying against Edom for gloating over Jerusalem's destruction. The prophecy promises that God will judge nations that harm His people but will restore Israel. Obadiah emphasizes God's justice and sovereignty over all nations. Little is known of Obadiah personally. Venerated as one of the minor prophets in Christian tradition.
