Agapitus of Rome

About Agapitus of Rome
Agapitus was a young Roman martyr, only 15 years old, who was beheaded for his Christian faith during the persecution of Emperor Aurelian around 274 AD. Despite his youth and offers of wealth and honors, he refused to sacrifice to pagan gods. His courage inspired many conversions. He was buried on the Via Praenestina, where a basilica was later built.
