Blandina of Lyon

About Blandina of Lyon
Blandina was a young slave martyred in Lyon in 177 AD during a severe persecution. Despite being physically weak, she endured torture that broke stronger men, repeatedly declaring "I am a Christian." She was finally thrown to wild beasts, hung on a post (appearing cruciform), and then killed. Her courage inspired fellow martyrs. The account of her martyrdom is one of early Christianity's most moving documents.
