Moses the Black

About Moses the Black
Moses the Black was a former slave, bandit, and gang leader who converted to Christianity and became a desert monk in Egypt. His transformation from violent criminal to gentle monk exemplifies God's transforming grace. Moses struggled with his violent past and temptations but grew in holiness through prayer and humility. When raiders attacked his monastery, Moses refused to resist. He and six brothers were martyred around 405 AD. His life shows that no one is beyond redemption.
