About Adela of Pfalzel
Adela was a Frankish princess and abbess. Daughter of King Dagobert II, she married but was widowed young. Adela founded Pfalzel Abbey near Trier and became its first abbess. She lived in prayer, penance, and service to her community. Her feast is celebrated especially in the Trier region. She exemplifies noble women who used their wealth and position to establish monasteries.
