About Habakkuk

Habakkuk was an Old Testament prophet who questioned God about evil and injustice, receiving profound answers about faith and divine justice. His dialogue with God addresses why the wicked prosper and the righteous suffer. God's answer—that He will use Babylon to judge Judah, then judge Babylon itself—teaches divine sovereignty and timing. Habakkuk's famous verse "The righteous shall live by faith" (2:4) was quoted by Paul as foundational to Christian theology. Habakkuk's prayer-psalm (chapter 3) is a magnificent hymn of faith despite circumstances. He is venerated as one of the minor prophets.
