About Charbel Makhlouf

Sharbel Makhlouf was a Maronite monk and hermit in Lebanon known for miracles. Born to a poor family, Sharbel joined the Lebanese Maronite Order, living austere monastic life. After 16 years, he became a hermit, spending 23 years in solitude with prayer, fasting, and Eucharistic devotion. After his death in 1898, his tomb exuded a mysterious fluid for 67 years. Numerous miracles were reported at his shrine. His body remained remarkably preserved. Sharbel was canonized in 1977. His shrine in Annaya, Lebanon, attracts thousands, including many Muslims, testifying to miracles received through his intercession.
