About Eulalia of Mérida

Eulalia of Mérida is venerated as a young Christian martyr of the Diocletianic persecution. Prudentius celebrated her witness in a hymn in his Peristephanon. Her commemoration is December 10. Eulalia of Barcelona has a distinct local cult and a February 12 commemoration. The relationship between the two traditions has been debated; this catalog keeps their identities separate rather than treating Barcelona as an alternate name for the martyr of Mérida.
