About Blaise
Saint Blaise was a bishop and physician known for his miraculous healing abilities and deep Christian faith. Living in the early 4th century, he became famous for curing ailments, particularly throat diseases. During the fierce persecutions of Christians, Blaise was arrested for refusing to renounce his faith.
Despite severe tortures, including being beaten and threatened with death by wild animals, he remained steadfast. He was ultimately martyred by beheading. Saint Blaise is venerated as a protector against illnesses of the throat and is often invoked in blessings of the throat on his feast day, February 3rd. His courage and healing ministry have made him a beloved saint in both Eastern and Western Christianity.
