About Anastasia
Anastasia is remembered with Basilissa in an Eastern Christian commemoration on April 15. The paired names appear in a Byzantine calendar witness around the year 900.
A later account places the women in Rome, calls them disciples of the apostles, and tells of their courage under Nero. Those episodes belong to the received martyr story; they do not supply a secure first-century biography.
The older Roman Martyrology also named the pair on April 15. Their shared remembrance survives, while the historical identity behind the Anastasia of this particular entry remains uncertain. A specialist reconstruction connects the paired cult to other Roman and Sirmian Anastasia traditions, but does not establish a separately identifiable woman.
