Aspren

About Aspren

Naples venerates Aspren as an early bishop, although the archdiocese says that his secure personal history is unknown. A ninth-century life of Peter tells a fuller story: Peter heals and baptizes Aspren, who then preaches in Naples and is consecrated bishop. This is a later account of the city’s origins, not contemporary evidence for the meetings or a precise episcopal chronology.
