Autonomus

About Autonomus

The later passion says Autonomus left Italy during persecution, preached in Bithynia, and founded a church. It recounts that he was killed during a liturgy when attackers entered the church.Delehaye judged the martyr story in the form popularized by Metaphrastes historically unreliable. The account is presented here as received tradition, not a secure contemporary biography.
