The Orthodox Church in America’s account calls Bademus, or Vadim, a Persian monk of Beth Lapat and relates that he founded a monastery, was arrested under Shapur II, and was executed. Those details come through the transmitted Passion; scholarship cautions that Persian martyr acts could develop and combine materials during transmission.
