Baradates

About Baradates

Theodoret describes Baradates among Syria’s ascetics, living as a hermit enclosed in a small space, but gives little chronology. The Orthodox Church in America commemorates him on February 22 and preserves a fuller life. Details beyond Theodoret’s brief notice are best attributed to that later tradition.
