Basil the Elder

About Basil the Elder

The Orthodox Church in America identifies Basil the Elder as an eighteenth-century Romanian monastic teacher and spiritual guide to Paisius Velichkovsky. Its account places his tonsure at Dalhautsi around 1705–1706 and describes his later renewal of the Poiana Mărului skete. The short record rests on that OCA profile.
