Basilides

About Basilides

The June 10 Roman Martyrology commemorates Basilides with Tripos, Mandales, and twenty other martyrs on Rome’s Aurelian Way. Oxford’s critical catalogue describes a Latin Passion for the group, composed by the ninth century at the latest. No secure individual life of Basilides emerges from this group record, which is distinct from other same-name commemorations.
