Benjamin

About Benjamin

Theodoret includes Benjamin among Christians who suffered during the early fifth-century Persian persecution. The Orthodox Church in America identifies him as a deacon and relates his arrest, release after intervention, and execution after he resumed preaching. These episodes are received martyr tradition; scholarship notes dating and transmission problems in Persian martyr acts.
