About Brónach
Brónach is an Irish saint remembered at Glen-Seichis, the place later called Kilbroney. The church biography identifies notices of her in the martyrologies of Tallacht and Donegal.
Her local memory also surrounds a bell discovered in the branches of an old oak after a storm in 1885. Stories had explained its unseen ringing as supernatural, while the biography proposes that it had been hidden during the Reformation.
The bell and a cross associated with Brónach are preserved in the parish church at Rostrevor. These objects belong to the history of her veneration; they do not establish a detailed chronology of her life.
