Calimerius is remembered in Milanese tradition as a bishop of Milan. The early episcopal chronology is uncertain: a modern Orthodox reference describes him as the traditional fourth bishop and marks the chronology as conjectural. A short entry can preserve the local episcopal memory, but the familiar stories about his origin, formation, martyrdom, and death should remain attributed to later legend.
