About Eleuchadius
Eleuchadius appears in Ravenna’s medieval episcopal tradition, but his biography accumulated across sources of different dates. A sixth-century *Passion* associates him with Apollinaris; ninth-century Agnellus adds an eastern origin, philosophical learning, and theological writings; a thirteenth-century life makes further claims about authorship. These accounts do not establish a dependable second-century chronology or allow their details to be combined as fact. The February 14 Martyrology notice supports the received commemoration, while a short profile should emphasize the limits and growth of the tradition.
