About Primus

Primus and Felician are remembered together in the early Roman cult of martyrs. The fourth-century Roman burial catalogue places their graves at the fourteenth milestone of the Via Nomentana, near Nomentum. This establishes an early Roman commemoration and burial tradition, not the detailed circumstances of their deaths.

A later estimate places their martyrdom around 304, during the Diocletianic persecution. The exact date and narrative details are uncertain; the short account here rests on their attested early cult and burial record.
