About Theodora

The March 13 Roman Martyrology names Theodora among a group of martyrs at Nicaea: Theuseta, Horres, Nimphodora, Marcus, and Arabia are named with her, and Horres is identified as Theuseta’s son. The notice says that the group was burned for Christ. It gives no personal chronology or distinct action for Theodora, so the evidence supports a collective commemoration rather than an individual narrative.Theodora of Nicaea should not be merged with Theodora of Alexandria, whose separate September 11 tradition is preserved in an Orthodox Church in America life. No source reviewed connects these identities. No personal dates, family relation, or other episode is assigned to the Nicaean Theodora beyond the group wording of the martyrology.
