Tryphon

About Tryphon

The January 4 Roman Martyrology lists Tryphon with six named companions in Africa. This source supports the group’s liturgical memory but does not provide an individual biography for Tryphon or independent evidence for the group’s chronology. He should not be confused with the separate Tryphon of Phrygia/Lampsacus, whose later hagiographic life is attached to a February 1 commemoration.
