About Acestes
Acestes is remembered with Longinus and Megistus in a tradition associated with Paul’s execution. The legend identifies the three as soldiers who escorted Paul and listened to his teaching.
It says that they became Christians and were themselves beheaded after Paul’s death. This received story does not establish an independently documented biography of Acestes.
