Biography
Adolf of Osnabrück

About Adolf of Osnabrück
Adolf was educated among the Cistercians and later became a priest and canon at Cologne. The church account says he left the canonry for monastic life before becoming bishop of Osnabrück in 1216.
It associates his episcopate with reforms and care for poor and sick people. He died in 1224; the source preserves competing death days.
His veneration developed without a formal canonization and received church recognition in 1625.
