About Africus
Africus is remembered in a local tradition associated with Comminges in southern France. That tradition presents him as a bishop who opposed Arian teaching among the Goths.
The church source notes that his name is absent from the episcopal lists it cites. His cult remained associated with a shrine and the place-name Saint-Affrique.
