Agathon of the Kiev Caves
About Agathon of the Kiev Caves
Agathon is remembered among the ascetics of the Kiev Caves. The Orthodox Church in America's brief notice attributes two gifts to him: healing sick people through the laying on of hands and foretelling future events. It also says that he foresaw his own death. These are features of the received devotional account, rather than independently verified medical or prophetic claims. His remembrance is associated with the fathers of the Far Caves. The notice provides no exact life dates, family history, or separate account of his death; the few preserved traditions do not establish a fuller personal chronology.
