Agmer of Senlis

About Agmer of Senlis

Agmer, also called Agmare, was a bishop of Senlis in the seventh century. The church reference Nominis identifies him among the forty bishops at the Council of Reims in 625.

The same notice associates him with the founding of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés near Paris in 640. These two notices preserve his participation in the wider life of the church beyond his episcopal seat.

The consulted account gives no details of his childhood or the beginning and end of his episcopate. His local commemoration is recorded on November 7.
