Alena is remembered in the Christian tradition of Dilbeek near Brussels. Her received life describes baptism undertaken without her parents’ knowledge.
The account says she was killed while secretly travelling to a celebration of the Eucharist. She is venerated as a virgin martyr, with her death traditionally placed around 640.
