Alexius the Recluse of the Kiev Caves

About Alexius the Recluse of the Kiev Caves
Alexius is remembered in the Orthodox Church in America's notice as a thirteenth-century ascetic of the Kiev Caves. It records the discovery of his relics after 1675 and says that they rest beside those of Savva. This association explains their shared April commemoration; it does not establish Alexius's historical day of death. The source has an internal location discrepancy. Its title says Far Caves, but its body identifies the Near Caves and their common observance. Both references are preserved as a source problem rather than resolved by assumption. The notice gives no exact life dates, family details, or fuller account of his ascetic life.
