About Alor of Quimper

Alor, also known as Alour, is remembered as a sixth-century bishop of Cornouaille. The diocesan account places him after Corentin and Conogan.

His personal history is sparse. Nominis chiefly recalls his local veneration in Brittany.

The diocese identifies him as patron of the parish churches of Ergué-Armel, Tréméoc and Plobannalec, and the old-village chapel of Tréguennec.

It also warns that Alor has sometimes been confused with Alar. Their names should not be treated as interchangeable.
