Ambrose is remembered as the twelfth bishop of Sens, serving in the fifth century.
A notice supplied by the diocesan archivist recalls his concern for people caught in the upheavals of his time. It records his burial at Saint-Gervais and the transfer of his remains to Saint-Pierre-le-Vif in 876.
