About Andreas Wang Tianqing

Andreas Wang Tianqing, Lucia Wang’s young son from Majiazhuang, was killed with his mother during the Boxer persecution on 22 July 1900.

Pius XII’s letter names him as nine years old and grants beatification to Mangin’s group on 17 April 1955.

John Paul II canonized Andreas with Augustine Zhao Rong and his companions on 1 October 2000.

The United States Catholic calendar remembers this group on 9 July, separately from Andreas’s own date of death.
