About Anianus of Alexandria

Eusebius names Annianus as Mark’s successor at Alexandria and gives him twenty-two years.

Coptic tradition recounts Mark healing Anianus and baptizing his household.

The chronology remains uncertain. The Synaxarium and official Coptic history give differing dates. Meinardus likewise cautions that the early chronology cannot be settled confidently. These accounts do not support a single secure modern life date.

His Coptic feast is 20 Hator. A received Catholic notice commemorates him on 25 April, with Mark; it also mentions 10 November. These observances come from different calendar traditions.
