About Antônio Vilela
Antônio Vilela, known as the Younger, was a Catholic layman and father killed at Uruaçu in 1645. His daughter, whose name is not preserved in the recognition record, is remembered among the same victims.
Received accounts identify him as the son of Antônio Vilela Cid.
John Paul II beatified the group on 5 March 2000, authorizing its collective commemoration on 3 October.
Francis canonized the recognized martyrs, including Vilela, on 15 October 2017.
