About Bily of Vannes
Bily appears in the diocesan list as bishop of Vannes around the end of the ninth century. The list gives 919 as an uncertain endpoint for his episcopate.
Local tradition remembers him as a martyr.
At Plaudren, he is explicitly named as patron of the parish. The present parish church, completed in 1896, bears his name.
