Ceraunus of Paris

About Ceraunus of Paris
Ceraunus was bishop of Paris when the Council of Paris met in 614. The diocesan account places him among the seventy-eight bishops gathered in the basilica of the Holy Apostles.
The same account reports a contemporary’s praise for his care in collecting narratives about martyrs. After his death he was buried in the basilica’s crypt, where Geneviève also rested.
His relics were placed in a shrine in 1253 and venerated in the upper church, by then known as Sainte-Geneviève.
