Contestus of Bayeux
About Contestus of Bayeux
Contestus is commemorated among the early bishops of Bayeux. The parish calendar identifies him as the fifth bishop and marks his feast on January 19.
The traditional account says he lived in solitude before becoming bishop and later withdrew from the city during persecution. Those details belong to the devotional account rather than a securely established chronology.
