Diomedes of Tarsus
About Diomedes of Tarsus
Diomedes is remembered as a physician from Tarsus who treated poor people without payment. Church tradition therefore includes him among the unmercenary healers.
He is also remembered as a preacher of Christianity. The received account says that he was arrested at Nicaea and killed during the persecutions around 303.
The brief tradition preserves those central features of his witness, but does not supply a fuller account of his family, medical training or working life.
