About Dizan of Saintes
Dizan, also called Dizant, is venerated in the church of Saintes. The diocesan account says a thirteenth-century breviary presents him as an eighth-century bishop, but explicitly warns that his episcopal office is not certain.
That later narrative describes preaching, opposition and periods away from Saintes. These episodes remain part of the tradition rather than a securely established itinerary.
