About Druthmar of Corvey

Druthmar was a monk of Lorsch before Henry II appointed him abbot of Corvey. He brought the stricter observance associated with the reform movement at Gorze.

The historian Karl Heinrich Krüger describes resistance from monks who left before later returning. Krüger also cautions that accusations of lax living against the earlier community cannot simply be taken as established fact.

Druthmar died in 1046. His veneration developed alongside that of the earlier abbot Ludolf after their remains were exhumed in 1100.
