Biography
Ephraim of Smolensk
About Ephraim of Smolensk
Ephraim was a disciple of Abramius of Smolensk. The Orthodox Church in America identifies him as the compiler of his teacher’s life and notes its value for the history of education in northwestern Russia. Its brief notice offers no separate account of Ephraim’s childhood, later career, or death. A precise chronology is therefore not reconstructed.
